Sometimes I feel like I'm just banging my head against a wall
Not doing any good at all
Doing everything I can to break my fall
Just trying to make it through another day
I'm just spinning my wheels
At least that's how it feels
I keep digging in my heels
So I won't be dragged away
You haven't lived my life
Looked down the barrel of a gun into your father's eyes
Or felt the tip of a knife
Against your throat
You just don't get it!
Here in this place I feel like a child
The cold steel feel of the tile
The institutional style
Of the place
Makes my heart race, my head brace
For the blow
You don't understand
There's no way you can
You aren't in my head
You never heard the things they said
Never truly wished you were dead
Or that you'd never been
Have you?
You haven't lived my life
Looked down the barrel of a gun into your father's eyes
Or felt the tip of a knife
Against your throat
You just don't get it!
But there is someone who does
Someone who knows my pain and more
Someone who knows me inside-out
Through all the masks into the core
While I'm curled up in the corner with my demons and my fears
He's still standing at the door
Knocking, knocking, knocking
But sometimes I can't hear
Through all these voices in my head
I forget the things He said
"Let not your heart be troubled"
"FEAR NOT"
"My peace I give unto you"
"I am with you always"
"My grace is sufficient"
You just don't get it!
But He does

Chew On This
Sometimes, I think, it is all too easy to lose sight of what our lives should really be about. If we all worried less about what we don't have or what we want or even need, and focused more on figuring out how we can serve others - how we can contribute to making our world a better, nicer place to live - we would be a happier race of people. Why do we say "I", "me" and "my" so much? Have you ever really paid attention to how many times in one day you think or say phrases containing those words? We are a selfish race, chiefly concerned with our own well-being and largely unconcerned about others. Imagine what life could be like if we weren't so easily offended, if we put others convenience before our own, if we gave of our time, talents and money generously and sacrificially to help someone in need, if we didn't take advantage of people or systems in an effort to make our lives easier. I dare say that our needs would be met, we would have peace beyond imagination, much less stress, better health and a life of fulfillment and satisfaction. But one person alone is only the beginning...I can't change the world all by myself. : (

Crash
He ponders how he could, would do it - kill another human being.
The black dog bites, and he is seeing it, planning it.
WAIT!
The white sire shows his fangs and black retreats.
Avoidance, he thinks, is the key. The only option.
If he can just keep from putting himself in a situation where he will be
forced to act, to choose, things will be okay.
The bark
The bite
It's all the same as black finds an opening and attacks!
He will NOT be made a fool of!
He will NOT be seen as weak!
END IT!
Extinguish the threat!
That's the only way it will ever stop, the only way to handle this!
Put him down.....forever.
But what about them? The ones he loves?
They will all be hurt. The ones he cares for most will be devastated.
He is a pawn, as are we all, in a struggle between black & white.
Which one will you feed?

Food For Thought....
Why is it that we think we have so little and don't realize it's because we have squandered away everything we have been given? We don't have too little money...we have too much debt!

Untitled (1)
By my wounds I set you apart
still you take me for granted
and it's breakin' my heart
Now your lip service fails
'cause you trample my blood
Though I bought you with nails
and the love that made me bleed
is enough for you always
no matter what it is that you think you're gonna need....

Secrets Your Waiter Will Never Tell You!
- The "Special" is whatever they need to sell before it goes bad. Yum!
- If the dessert on the menu says "homemade", it probably is....by the bakery down the street.
- Even at the best breakfast buffet in the world, 99 out of 100 times the scrambled eggs are made from a powder.
- In most restaurants after 8pm or so, all the coffee is decaf....no one wants to clean two different pots.
- Salads are often made up to 3 days earlier. They sit on a tray in the refrigerator with lots of other salads until ordered. Fast, but is it really worth it?
- If you don't like something, don't eat it! Send it back and order something else!
- Fish is usually delivered twice a week so Tuesday through Friday are the best days to order those dishes. Or ask when the restaurant get theirs.
- You're more likely to get noticed as a "regular" on Mondays, Tuesdays or Wednesdays. "Regulars" sometimes get special treatment like an extra glass of wine you aren't billed for or a sample from the kitchen.
- You know that lemon in your tea? It wasn't washed. Just cut up and thrown into a big tub that all the waiters reach into when they are lovingly preparing your yummy iced tea.
